If everyone was honest with themselves nobody wants to literally burn in anything. On September eleventh when our country was attacked, there were people jumping out of buildings to their death because they did not want to burn in the fires of the World Trade Center. Any one would rather go to heaven than burn in hell. The question is then how does one get the right to go to heaven? There will be many opinions on this question. Just like there are many opinions on a variety of topics, but with the question of who can go to heaven and who will go to hell, we must find someone or something that is the authority on the subject. If I have a question about carpentry, I don't go to a fitness center I would go to a hardward store. If I have a question about taxes, I would not go to a hospital, I would go to a tax professional. With the question of who goes to heaven and who goes to hell the only authority that matters is God's through the word of God.
So what does the Bible say. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Ecclesiastes 7:20 says "For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not." These verses are obviously clear. Anybody who was ever born is a sinner before a holy God. That means that we are all doomed to die and go to hell. However, here is a question for you. Who knew that we were sinners before we knew? God knew before the foundation of the world that all of mankind would be born sinners and would also choose to be sinners (Revelation 13:8). Therefore, in the vast intelligence of God, he provided a way for these evil sinners to become forgiven and changed sinners. The first prophecy of this plan of redemption is found in Genesis 3:15 "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." Here is another question "Who is the 'seed of the woman' and who is the 'thee, thy, and thou"? "The seed of the woman is Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Jesus did not have an earthly father, but He did have an earthly mother and His mother was a descendent of Eve. The other individual in this verse is the Devil. The Devil's head would be bruised through the plan of redemption going through and the Devil would bruise His heel. The seed would be peirced through with nails in His heels to die for the sins of the world. So what did this death on the cross of this man who did not have an earthly father accomplish. This "seed of the woman" was not born a sinner as every other human being. The sinful nature is passed down through the man. Hebrews 7:26 says "For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; This is speaking of Jesus Christ. He was a sinless man. He was perfect before God the Father. Because He was perfect and because He was God and because He was a man, He could literally die for the sins of the world. He was the only one that ever lived that could accomplish this. Jesus was also God as well. John 1:1 says "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God." Later in that chapter the Bible says "And the word was made flesh." Who does that refer to? Obviously Jesus of Nazareth. The book of Isaiah chapter 40 verse three says "The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. This is a prophecy of John the Baptist whom we know prepared the way for Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ in this verse lines up with capital L capital O capital R and capital D meaning Yahweh Jehovah. John the Baptist was the forerunner of Yahweh Jehovah. On this page so far I have written about the fact that we are sinners. I have also talked about that Jesus was a sinless man and was also God. So the question remains how do we claim this salvation? That is exactly what we do; we claim Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection for ourselves. Jesus did not die just for other people, but He died for me as an individual. We need to trust Christ for our salvation. Acts 16:31 say "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The choice is left with you. God will not force you to be saved, but rather He invites you to be saved through Him. I do not force you to be saved, but I invite you to believe on the one who can save. You can choose your sin and die and go to hell, or you can choose Jesus Christ and have abundant life in this life (John 10:10) and also in that which is to come. Thank you for reading this page.
